It's a beautiful day for a war.
As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the Godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat taht has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.
And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with swoonworthy Aiden St. Delph, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the udnerworld to release one of the most dangerous Gods of all time.
In the Stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear . . . or the end of herself.
I had my worries with regards to how this book would measure up to the rest of the series that had somehow managed to worm it's way through my heart.
The whole story progressed beautifully with a few ugh moments here and there. There's actual character development for all the characters which I find commendable considering that some authors do neglect the fact that characters need to have their own personal growth and not just the story itself to progress. Alex has grown mature and stronger but she still has that comical quirk in her that I find endearing. She could be sarcastic and dare say a little confused at times but who wouldn't considering her bizarro connection with Seth and the hunky Aiden thrown in the complex mix.
The occasional banter between Seth and Aiden is a welcome amusement which just adds life to the whole fight to the end thing that's just looming around the corner. After who said doom and gloom should be the only thing the story has going on for.
Aiden is still as loveable as ever. Self sacrificing, determined, strong willed and the total embodiment of how a Sentinel should be.
As for Seth who was the total baddie before did a total turn about and was able to redeem himself. I didn't hate him nor liked him. I get that he was coming from somewhere that is why he ended up the way he is. But although he could be a total ass at times, that makes me want to punch him to days on end, you can't help but like him with how much he really cared for Alex. I think that he genuinely liked/loved her but was muddled up by his evil ways in the previous books.
The pacing moved at a snail's pace for some reason. I didn't feel that needed tension considering that they are about to have the biggest showdown in all of their lives. And the overall tone of the story felt too comical at times which if you would refer to the actual book cover doesn't seem to tie up if you ask me?
There's too much redundant moments in this. I would have appreciated it if they didn't put too much reference in Alex being the God Killer all the time. I don't have to be reminded of that all the time. And yes I get it, she's bad ass, but that doesn't mean it has to pop up ever so often.
All in all it was a good end to a very exciting thrill ride. I good closure has been made. There could've been things done differently but it is still one heck of a series.
